After a year of basic card study, we are about to make a gravity-defying leap upward. We call our new 2009 curriculum “Doorways.” Every card in the deck is a door, with a picture painted on it to give us a hint about what's on the other side. We've all spent a lot of time looking at the pictures, trying to decipher their meanings. Now, in our new Monday night classes, we're going to open the doors and step through. We'll spontaneously draw two cards in every class and enter their soaring architecture of systems, experiences and visions. Depth and dimension, force and form, name and number, pillar and triad, emergence and return — we'll fill all these and more with meaning, feeling and truth, and embed them in the unseen energy of spiritual sexuality that pervades tarot from end to end. All this will lead to new techniques and more refined and powerful readings. It's going to be an exciting year! As always, our classes are open to everyone who loves tarot, from beginner to expert. If you're a beginner, you'll learn easily and quickly. If you're already an experienced student and reader, you'll add a lot of fascinating and useful things to what you already know. In addition to all that, live classes at The Tarot School create a community of friends with whom to share the adventure of tarot. We very much look forward to seeing our regular students again and to meeting those who'll be joining us for the first time.
