The AmberstonesRuth Ann & Wald Amberstone are co-founders of The Tarot School created in New York City in 1995.

Pillars of the modern Tarot movement, Ruth Ann and Wald teach, write, speak and publish about tarot on every conceivable level. Divination, psychology, esotericism and magical practice are all areas of expertise covered by this pioneering tarot couple.

Ruth Ann and Wald's unique vision unfolds as they develop new tarot techniques and innovative classes inspiring students on a global level. Yet, they remain lifelong tarot students.

Their Tarot School Correspondence Course and various audio courses are perennial favorites among the international tarot community. Their live Monday night Tarot Salons cater to the city's brightest esoterically-minded students.

The Amberstones are authors of The Secret Language of Tarot (Weiser), Tarot Tips: 78 Practical Techniques to Enhance Your Tarot Reading Skills (Llewellyn), and contributors to Ciro Marchetti's Legacy of the Divine Tarot and Llewellyn's Tarot Reader almanacs.

They co-created the unique and enigmatic Tarot of the Name, which has a small but devoted following. The High Deck (Schiffer), a symbolic deck of cards created by Wald's father, Arthur Amberstone, was 65 years in the making and reveals Wald's divinatory roots.

Wald and Ruth Ann also organize popular and successful tarot events, including the 2002 New York Tarot Festival, the annual Readers Studio (now in its exciting 16th year!), and the ground-breaking Tarot & Psychology Conference.
