Hello, we are Ruth Ann and Wald Amberstone, directors and teachers at The Tarot School and lifelong Tarot students. We created The Readers Studio in 2003 as a way to express our love of Tarot, and our love for the people who love Tarot, by bringing cutting-edge, practical techniques to the Tarot community.
Each year Readers Studio has grown and become better and better as it has evolved into a community in its own right. And by being part of Readers Studio, you help to shape the direction of the Tarot community going forward.
We celebrated the 10th Anniversary of Readers Studio in 2012. At the dinner banquet, we were presented with a beautiful box created by Ciro Marchetti, filled with little love notes from all the attendees. It was a glorious gift and we'd like to share a few of them with you. We've scattered them throughout the website. Just look for the little red heart like this one:

Three in-depth Master Classes with world-class Tarot instructors
Nancy Antenucci, Major Tom Schick and Ferol Humphrey. Each includes hands-on practice during every session so you can test and try out the new techniques. These classes are the focal point of the conference and are scheduled one-at-a-time so everyone can attend each one together.

See your skills improve in record time! You will have 15 minutes to do a reading for your partner using any technique you choose. You'll revisit the same reading at the end of the conference invigorated with the wealth of new learning you've acquired. Even 30-year veterans are amazed at how their readings deepen and grow.
Two Breakfast Roundtables: Each interactive session is led by a well-known member of the Tarot community and focuses on an engaging topic. A gentle, guided Tarot Meditation is available as a quiet alternative to the lively discussion.

Dr. Arthur Rosengarten is an experienced Jungian psychologist, published author, Graduate Professor, and Tarot teacher based in San Diego, California. Art wrote the first accredited doctoral dissertation on Tarot,
entitled: Accessing the Unconscious: A Comparative Study of Dreams, TAT, and Tarot (California Institute of Integral Studies, San Francisco, 1985). He has been a pioneer and a leading voice in the emerging field of “Tarot
Psychology” for over 25 years. His book Tarot and Psychology: Spectrums of Possibility (Paragon House, 2000) shows innovative and powerful examples of the skillful blending of Tarot with psychotherapy.
Elinor Greenberg, PhD, CGP, CPTR is a licensed psychologist who has been in practice as a Gestalt Therapist for over thirty years. She is internationally known for her lectures and papers on personality disorders and is a member of the editorial board of the Gestalt Review. Dr. Greenberg holds a Tarot School Third Degree, is certified as a professional tarot reader, and has developed her own blend of tarot and psychotherapy that she calls “Tarot Counseling.”
Dr. David Van Nuys is psychology professor emeritus at Sonoma State University. In addition, his market research business, e-FocusGroups, has served such distinguished clients as The New York Times and Apple Computer. A University of Michigan trained clinical psychologist, he leads workshops across the U.S. and Europe. A prolific author and speaker, he collaborated on a book about the infamous Zodiac serial killer. He also produces two popular podcasts: Shrink Rap Radio and Wise Counsel.
