Runes — an ancient, mysterious divination system. While its stark symbols look deceptively simple, there is a world of wisdom accessible through them.
In this study group, you will get a sound introduction to Runes by hearing a brief history of the origin and use of Runes, the spiritual paths of Seidhr (Rune prophecy) and Galdr (Rune magic). The interactive part is designed to get you some hands-on experience with casting and reading and Runes, including some techniques on how to enhance your work by making and charging your own Runes and connecting to them.
We will work with the Elder Futhark, so if you own a Rune set already, you are invited to bring it! There will be Rune sets available from the tutor as well, made from a range of different materials, so part of the fun will be to pick out what works best for you!
Last but not least, you will receive a package of course materials that will take you further on your path — chock-full of goodies like a Rune correspondence chart with divinatory meanings and other correspondences (colours, plants, weekdays + months…), a CD with musical recordings of the Edda Rune poems and intonation of the Runes in the Elder Futhark and a recommended reading list.
SATURDAY, April 24th 9–11 pm
Tuition: $35 paid directly to the instructor
