Introduction to the Gaian Tarot
with Joanna Powell Colbert

Joanna Powell Colbert

The Gaian Tarot is a contemporary, multicultural deck with an earth-honoring theme. It has been a work in progress for nine years, and is finally available as a Collectors Edition at RS10! The mass market version will be published by Llewellyn in September 2011. In this workshop, Joanna will present a slideshow of images from the deck, explaining the symbolic and creative choices she made. She'll go over the number system and the unusual court cards, and will tell stories about the inspiration behind some of the images. She will also go over her creative process, showing the stages of one card (3 of Earth/Pentacles) from initial inspiration through the photo session, photo collage, sketch and final colored pencil artwork.

SATURDAY, April 24th 9–11 pm
Tuition: $35 paid directly to the instructor
