Certified Tarot GrandmasterJohn Gilbert has read tarot cards for nearly half a century and taught tarot, astrology, divination, mysticism, and comparative religions for over thirty years. He's the former Founding President and Executive Director of the American Tarot Association and currently serves as their Secretary on the ATA Board of Directors. John is currently the Executive Director of the Tarot Certification Board.John is a retired high school principal and former math and science teacher. Since 1980 he's been the Provost of the University at Universal Seminary where he supervises the staff and continues to teach comparative religion which he's taught since 1972. His classes cover a variety of subjects including Hebrew, Kaballah, Paganism, Meditation, Yoga, Ritual, Tarot, Astrology, and Mysticism.
John is a Knight Templar, Alchemist, Rosicrucian, Shriner, Thirty-second degree Mason, and member of several esoteric lodges and a Western mystery school. He is a member of the Ancient Order of Druids where he currently serves as Archdruid of Air. He practices Kriya Yoga and is a member of the episcopate for the Universal Gnostic Church.
