Tarot Correspondence Course FAQ

Does the course work with a particular deck?

The sections that delve into specific imagery and symbolism refer to the Rider-Waite-Smith / Universal Waite deck. The course also includes exercises, techniques and spreads which can be used with any tarot deck you like.

How long is the course?

The course consists of 15 lessons, mailed to you over a period of 18 months.

Will the course be offered online, or by email, at some point in the future?

At this time, we are not planning to offer the course online.

How are the lessons offered? Can they be paid for one at a time?

The lessons are available for a single payment of $295 ($895 for the degree program). If you get the course as downloadable pdf lessons and mp3 audios, it's only $195 ($795 for the degree program).

Enrolling for one lesson at a time is not practical for us and disrupts the learning process for you. However, an installment plan is available for the degree program.

Is shipping included in the enrollment price?

Yes, the price of the course includes its being sent to you by first-class mail no matter where in the world you live.

Do I get a refund if I cancel my enrollment?

We have a 30-day money back guarantee. You can cancel any time before your second lesson arrives for a full refund.

Can I begin the course at any time?

You can start at any time. Enrollments received before the 15th of any given month will receive Lesson One that month. Enrollments received after the 15th will begin the course the following month. Additional lessons will arrive at the beginning of each subsequent month for the first 12 months. The remainder of the course has periodic breaks for review and advanced work. (If you choose digital delivery, you'll get your first lesson right away! Subsequent lessons will arrive in your inbox the same time each month.)

I'm already taking another tarot course (ATA, BOTA, etc). How is The Tarot School Correspondence Course different? Can I take them together?

The Tarot School Correspondence Course is the only single source that we know of that offers a thorough explanation of all the traditional symbolism and imagery in all the cards, starting with the very first lesson. There are new ways of looking at tarot, and many exercises and spreads, developed exclusively for this course, that will deepen your experience of the cards no matter what your current level of expertise. The course stands beautifully on its own or can be a powerful complement to your current tarot studies.

Is there any personal interaction, or is the course strictly informational?

You have two choices as to how you experience the course. You may use it as reference material and do the exercises on your own. Or, you may enroll in the Correspondence Course Degree Program. This option will give you the added benefit of personal coaching sessions to help you with the lessons and provide feedback on your work, as well as earning you a Tarot School Degree. See the Degree Program Guidelines for full details.

When you register, you'll be offered an invitation to join our Readers Studio Ning social network. Course students, as well as others from the tarot community, can participate in the Discussion Forum which allows us all to raise and answer questions, discuss experiences and practice techniques. This forum is available to all course students, whether or not you are enrolled in the degree program.

Is a Tarot School Degree the same as Certification?

A Tarot School Degree is an internal diploma and there are a number of ways to earn one. For additional information on The Tarot School Degree Program, Click Here.

If I enroll in the degree program, how long do I have to complete the lessons?

You have as long as you need. We realize that your life is complex and you may not always be able to devote the time you'd like to the coursework. Even when you do, we encourage you to take your time and savor the experience.

Whenever you have finished a lesson, we'll set up a coaching session to discuss your work before you move on to the next one. Your pace may vary from lesson to lesson but you're the one who sets it!

Is there any additional independent reading needed?

Additional reading will be useful where you wish to investigate esoteric material in depth, and in general, it is a good idea to read constantly and widely to broaden your understanding of tarot and fill in gaps in your knowledge.

Do you have a suggested reading list?

There is no official reading list because people's needs and tastes differ. However, we do offer a few suggestions within the lessons themselves that we recommend.

Is there a detailed course outline I can look at?

No. The lessons are too intricate to lend themselves easily to an outline format. However, you can get a taste of the type of material you'll find in the course by reading the Course Excerpts.

May I speak to someone about the course?

Yes. Give us a call at 800-804-2184 and we'll be happy to discuss it with you.

Will I be a competent reader by the end of the course?

Absolutely. If you do the work.

OK, I'd like to enroll!
